The race route has been marginally tweaked for 2026 as it is the WFRA Long Distance Champs Race; although the vast majority of the route will remain the same. 

Main changes 

• are the inclusion of Fan y Big 
• the finish will be in Talybont on Usk village rather than the Dam (to enable better parking and welfare facilities). 
• This has resulted in slightly more ascent and distance. 

The 2026 race entails running to eight summits and is now 34km long with 1700m ascent. 

All runners must be finished by no later than 16.00 for the safety of the marshals and volunteers. 

Two cutoffs will be applied to protect the marshalls/volunteers: 
1) 12.05 Bwlch ar y Fan (SO 0315 2053) which is approximately 10km into the race and after 700m ascent
2) 14.10 Torpantau road crossing which is 21.5km and 1250m into the race.
