Mynydd Graig Goch

The race has only been made possible thanks to the local community council, Ysgol Nebo and the local landowners so a massive thanks in advance to all of them.

Key instructions and general points for the race:

1. Only access the village via Ffordd Nebo please as other routes are quiet narrow and access will be difficult.

2. Parking is the biggest issue so please try and car share; on arrival please follow marshals instructions regards parking. There is minimal parking at the school and they'll be used mainly for the helpers / organisers.

3. Remember to bring some cash to buy cakes / drinks at the school - all proceeds to the village committee and Ysgol Nebo.

4. Essential you remember your number - £5 fee if you forget whilst also remembering to still sign in on the night.

5. Regards the route. See the updated map. Start outside the school, head up the road, following all others, turn right up the gentle incline of Allt y Mast until you reach the top; turn left through the gate. From here the key is to follow the pink markers on the ascent; then veer right and follow the pink markers at green circle on map - they'll stop after a while as route to summit from there is obvious. Reach the summit with the flag of Gwynedd at the summit then head down the descent, generally following the small pink markers until you reach the crossing point again, veer right again at green circle on the map; bombing down to the lake, over the step over stile, through the gate then head down back to the school via the track and road.

In terms of the terrain on the hill, generally good going though a narrow trod through the heather and very rocky on the summit with the first half of the descent also being a tad technical.

6. The junior race HQ is not at the school in Nebo; it's up at the layby near Llyn Cwm Dulyn.
